Inkvictus Studios started back in 2019 as a one-person gig, mainly because I was left with no other choice. I had invested over $4,500 in a cosmetic tattooing course, only to discover that it barely covered the basics needed to even tattoo properly. Feeling frustrated and without the support, mentorship, or opportunities I had hoped for, and without a portfolio, on top of it, I was stuck at a cross-roads. So, I had no other option but to forge my own path and roll up my sleeves. Take my word, it was hard.
As both the business and I have grown, I've encountered many individuals in client-facing industries with similar startup stories. The struggle for genuine community and support in the beauty and wellness scene is real. It's disheartening to see artists undervalued with laughable commission rates and lack of support + mentoring or bare-bones booth/ studio setups. No one wants to shell out $500 to $1500+ a month for four walls and then have to furnish the place, sort out booking systems, merchant service software, client waivers, services essentials, just to name a few start up expenses.
It's a lot, I know because I was forced to do it.
So, as we soon enter into year 5 of Inkvictus, I lead with a new concept in mind - something different from the original salon settings that tends to be the industry norm.
Inkvictus will now be a mix of private suites + open concept flooring that will house client-facing artists and service providers who value good morals, ethics, + pure intentions – the things Inkvictus has always been known for.
My hope is that whether you're a seasoned provider or fresh out of school, you'll see this new approach as something truly special and worthy of pride. I want the abundance of love, support, + encouragement you'll receive to inspire you to be your best self – professionally and personally.
With the systems we put in place, our studio is designed to cater precisely to the needs of our artists and service providers. We're committed to ensuring they receive fair, uncapped compensation, and we provide the bulk of what they need to excel in their craft. This way, they can focus on what they do best—providing exceptional care to their clients and producing amazing work, and being a good team member, of course.

Our suites and chairs are designed to accommodate either two part-time or one full-time service-providing artist(s).
While we strive to keep our availability updated, feel free to reach out for the latest information or inquire about any unknown team member availability.
We've got a weekly Studio Usage Fee (S.U.F.) that can be paid bi-weekly or monthly, and we also take a small commission from each service completed.
Just to keep things transparent, the S.U.F. isn't just rent – it covers all the essentials to keep Inkvictus running smoothly for everyone. the commission allocations Is our way of giving back to the community, supporting things like team member perks, outings, showing love to our clients, and more.
team members get paid on the 10th + 25th of the month.
Absolutely! Depending on your goals and needs, we have both full-time and part-time opportunities available. We always strive for arrangements that benefit both you and our team, ensuring a mutually rewarding experience.

This is a 1099 position, meaning you are responsible for managing your own taxes in accordance with the laws of North Carolina.
